Skin Care Tips

  • Avoid using moisturizing shampoos and conditioners. These contain oils that can clog and cause pimples along the hair line.

  • Avoid using conditioner. Only apply conditioner to the ends of the hair if needed. It contains a lot of oil that may cause breakouts on the forehead and along the hairline.

  • Avoid toothpaste and mouthwash that contain artificial coloring. These may contribute to break outs around the mouth area.

  • Do not use Petroleum Jelly, CarmEx, Burts Bees, Vaseline, lip gloss or lip balm on your lips.

  • Use unscented facial tissue to wipe your face.

  • Avoid using towels.

  • If using a face mask, make sure to use an unscented facial tissue as a liner to avoid direct skin contact with the mask fibers.

  • Only use Mineral Makeup, including blush. Mineral Makeup is free from oil and binders that can contribute to breakouts.

  • Avoid using fabric softener or fabric sheets when washing your pillowcases and blankets. (Examples: Downey and Bounce)

  • Pull back your hair to keep it out of your face. Dust and oil from your hair can clog pores when it’s near your face.

  • Avoid picking your pimples and blackheads and touching your face with your hands.

  • Change your pillowcase every three days.

  • Avoid pulling up your blanket around your chin or anywhere near your face.

  • Wipe your sunglasses or eyeglasses, especially on the rims with alcohol before each use.

  • While on the phone, do not let the phone handset touch your face. Use the speaker phone or bluetooth instead if possible.

  • Avoid waxing if you’re using Tretinoin and FF.

  • Avoid using hats or caps.

  • Do not use shaving gel or aftershave.

  • Always use a disposable shaver.

  • Avoid baby powder. Talc can cause pores to clog on the face.

  • When applying makeup, make sure that you use a clean brush. Brushes should be cleaned with brush cleaner every day.

  • Excessive rubbing can cause wrinkles and crows feet around the eyes.

  • Use only water-based moisturizers.
